About Monkey Mart

Monkey Mart is a free browser-based idle management game where you run a supermarket as a cheerful monkey. You start with a single banana stand and grow the business by planting crops, harvesting produce, stocking shelves, and ringing up customers at the register. Your monkey performs whatever task is nearest automatically, so play is about positioning and multitasking rather than button-mashing. Earnings fund upgrades: new product aisles, faster movement, bigger carrying stacks, and hired monkey helpers (cashiers, harvesters, farmers, chefs) who automate the grind. Later you unlock animals that need feeding and workstations that process raw goods into higher-value items, such as corn into popcorn, cocoa into chocolate, and beans into coffee. Fully upgrading one mart unlocks the next, across several themed stores. Developed by two-person indie studio TinyDobbins and released on Poki in 2022, it became one of the platform's most-played titles.

How to play Monkey Mart

1. Move your monkey next to a crop, shelf, workstation, or register and the matching action (harvest, stock, cook, or check out) happens automatically.
2. Plant and harvest produce, then carry it to the shelves so customers can buy it.
3. Stand at the cash register to ring up waiting customers and collect coins.
4. Spend earnings in the upgrade menu to unlock new product aisles and raise Stamina, Stack, and Speed.
5. Hire monkey helpers to automate cashiering, harvesting, and stocking so you can focus on expansion.
6. Complete every upgrade in your current mart to unlock the next, larger store.

Controls

• Desktop: WASD or arrow keys to move the monkey; alternatively click-and-drag with the mouse to lead it. All actions are automatic based on where you stand.
• Mobile / tablet: Tap and drag (or use the on-screen joystick) to move the monkey around the store; actions trigger automatically when you reach a station.

Monkey Mart tips & strategy

• Unlock the corn aisle early: corn sells for far more per unit than bananas, so it accelerates your income before you spend on anything else.
• Hire a cashier first. Automating the register frees your monkey to keep shelves stocked, which is where sales are actually lost.
• Unlock products in the order they appear in the upgrade menu and skip nothing. Each new aisle is a compounding revenue stream.
• Keep animals fed with corn. They only produce eggs and milk after eating, so a starved pen quietly kills that income.
• Prioritize the Stack upgrade so each trip carries more goods, then Speed to cut walking time between stations.
• Add chefs to run processing stations. Turning corn into popcorn or cocoa into chocolate sells for much more than the raw ingredient.
