About Hotgear

Hotgear is a free browser-based 3D driving game set in an open city map, playable with keyboard controls. It combines a free-roam mode, where you can drive anywhere at your own pace, with a mission mode of 24 increasingly difficult jobs that pay out in-game money. That money is spent in a garage to unlock new cars with different durability, handling, and top speed, so the core loop is drive missions, earn cash, buy better cars, repeat.

How to play Hotgear

1. Pick Free Roam to explore the open map at your own pace, or Missions to take on a timed job.
2. In Missions, follow the route to the marked destination before the timer runs out.
3. Use the accelerate and steering controls to handle traffic and tight corners; tap the brake/handbrake to drift around sharp turns.
4. Use nitro boost to close gaps or escape pursuers when speed matters most.
5. Watch the mini-map in the corner to anticipate upcoming turns, and keep an eye on your car health.
6. Spend the money you earn from completed missions in the garage to unlock new cars with different stats.

Controls

• Desktop: Keyboard: arrow keys or WASD to accelerate and steer, a dedicated key for the handbrake/drift, and a key for nitro boost (exact key bindings shown in-game).
• Mobile / tablet: Not designed for touch controls; the game is built around keyboard input and plays best on desktop.

• Use the handbrake for sharp corners instead of just turning - it keeps your speed up through tight streets.
• Check the mini-map before a turn arrives so you are not caught off guard at high speed.
• Save nitro for straightaways or the final stretch of a mission timer rather than burning it early.
• Early missions pay less but are safer for building up cash - use those winnings to buy a more durable car before attempting harder runs.
• In Free Roam, use the open map to practice a car's handling before relying on it in a timed mission.
