These terms apply when you use JoyForGame (https://joyforgame.com). They are short because the site is simple: you open a page, a game loads, you play. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the site.
1. What this site is
JoyForGame is a free catalogue of HTML5 games that run in a web browser, together with how-to-play instructions, controls, walkthroughs, collections and gameplay videos written and produced by us.
2. The games are not ours
We do not make the games on this site. They are made by independent studios and developers and are embedded here under licence through HTML5 game distribution networks, mainly GamePix and GameDistribution. Each game loads inside a frame from the distributor's own servers, runs the distributor's code, and is governed by that distributor's and that developer's own terms and privacy policies. We do not control what happens inside the game frame.
All trademarks, game titles, characters and artwork belong to their respective owners. Using a game's name to describe the game it names is not a claim of ownership or endorsement.
3. No account, no payment
The site has no registration, no login and no paywall. We never ask you for payment details, passwords or identity documents, and we will never contact you to ask for them. Any list of recently played games is kept in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with, overload or attempt to break the site or the embedded games;
- use automated means to scrape or bulk-copy the catalogue, our written guides or our videos;
- re-host, re-frame or redistribute the embedded games, or strip the attribution they carry;
- use the site in a way that breaks the law where you are.
5. Advertising
The site is free and is funded by advertising shown inside the embedded games, which the distribution network serves and shares revenue on. The ads.txt file at the root of this domain names the one seller account authorised to monetise it. We do not run paid listings: no studio can pay to be placed higher in our catalogue or collections.
6. Our own content
The catalogue structure, category and collection pages, how-to-play text, controls, walkthroughs and gameplay videos are ours. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back. Wholesale copying of our pages is not permitted.
7. Links and embeds to other sites
Pages here link to and embed material from third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their advertising or their data practices. Following a link off this site puts you under that site's terms, not ours.
8. Availability and changes to the catalogue
Games arrive and disappear. A distributor can withdraw a title at any time, and we remove games ourselves when they break or when a rights holder asks us to. We do not promise that any particular game will stay available, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that a saved link will keep working.
9. Rights holders and takedowns
If you are the developer or rights holder of a game listed here and you want it removed, or you believe it reached the distribution network without your permission, email [email protected] with the page address and how you are connected to the game. We take the page down while we check, not after. The same applies to artwork, names or text on this site that you believe is yours.
10. Children
The games are family-friendly, but this is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. See the privacy policy for what is and is not collected.
11. No warranty
The site and the games are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be error-free or secure, or that any game will work on your device.
12. Limit of our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JoyForGame is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or of any game embedded on it, including loss of data or lost game progress. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the "last updated" date above changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
