About Supermarket Simulator

Supermarket Simulator is a casual shop game played in the browser from a tilted top-down view in a tall portrait window, with simple rounded 3D characters and bright flat colours. You control a small character on the floor of a compact store that sits beside a grass verge, with a van parked at the edge of the scene. Inside are a wooden produce stand under a tomato signboard, a mint-green checkout counter holding a grey register and a card terminal, a station labelled 'Trash bin', a desk with a computer, and a planter of tomato plants on the grass outside. Shoppers move around the floor, some pushing green wire carts, and show thought bubbles asking for tomatoes with a count such as 0/1 or 0/2. The stand's stock swings a lot — three tomatoes, then empty, then seven — and the money total at the top of the screen goes both up and down.

How to play Supermarket Simulator

  1. Move your character around the small store floor, shown from a tilted top-down angle in a tall portrait window.
  2. Read each shopper's thought bubble. A red tomato with a count such as 0/1 or 0/2 is that shopper's order — 0/2 means two are still needed.
  3. Carry tomatoes to where they are needed. A tomato rides on your character's head while carried, and a bold 'Max' label appears above the character when no more can be taken.
  4. Watch the produce stand. It runs from three tomatoes down to completely empty and back up to seven, so stock turns over fast.
  5. Characters holding goods switch to a bubble showing a grey machine that resembles the register on the mint checkout counter, and head toward that counter — one of them shows an angry, gritted-teeth face.
  6. Keep an eye on the money total in the top-left. A patch of floor is outlined with white corner brackets and tagged with a card reading 10 in the same banknote currency, with a large arrow pointing at it.

Controls

  • Desktop: There are only two on-screen buttons, both stacked on the left edge: a pink settings gear and a green button carrying a van icon. You play using those on-screen controls and by walking your character to the objects in the store. No movement pad, joystick, arrow keys or key prompt appears anywhere, so we cannot tell you how the character is steered with a keyboard.
  • Mobile / tablet: The game is drawn in a portrait layout with its buttons stacked down the left edge within thumb reach, so the on-screen controls shown are tapped directly. There is no on-screen joystick or movement pad, so we cannot tell you exactly how the character is moved around the floor.

Supermarket Simulator tips & strategy

  • Read the count, not just the icon — a bubble showing 0/2 means that shopper still needs two tomatoes, while 0/1 needs only one.
  • Stock does not last. The produce stand goes from three tomatoes to completely empty, so the display is worth checking often.
  • Carrying is capped. When the 'Max' label pops up over your character, you cannot pick up more and will need another trip.
  • An angry, gritted-teeth face appears over a character standing at the checkout counter. It is the only mood signal the game puts on screen, so it is worth watching.
  • Money moves in both directions — the counter falls from 82 to 71 before climbing back through 75 to 86 — so what you spend can outrun what comes in.
  • Follow the big white arrow. It points at a patch of floor marked with white corner brackets and a card reading 10 in the same banknote currency as your counter, which is the game flagging something to buy.

What makes Supermarket Simulator fun

Portrait, tilted top-down 3D presentation with flat cartoon colours and simple rounded characters. A single compact store area containing a wooden produce stand under a tomato signboard, a mint-green checkout counter with a grey register and a separate card terminal with a green display, a station labelled 'Trash bin' marked with a cardboard-box icon, a computer desk, and a tomato planter on the grass outside. Shopper characters with thought-bubble orders carrying counts (0/1, 0/2), green wire shopping carts and baskets, a grey register-like icon shown over characters holding goods, and an angry-face reaction at the counter. A produce display whose stock visibly runs down and is restocked, from three tomatoes to empty to seven. A money counter in the top-left that both rises and falls. A floor patch outlined with white brackets, tagged with a price card and singled out by a pointer arrow. A carry limit flagged by a 'Max' label. An on-screen settings gear and a van button, plus a 'Free' label with a small film-strip play badge. Plays in the browser with no download.

Supermarket Simulator gameplay video

In this clip: This clip shows a top-down cartoon shop where a small character in a cyan outfit appears near a tomato display stand, tomato plants and a checkout counter while customers, some pushing shopping carts, walk the floor. Customer bubbles show tomato counts such as 0/2 or a cash-register icon, and the cash counter reads 82, 71, 75 and 86 across the four frames.

Supermarket Simulator FAQ

Is Supermarket Simulator free to play?

Yes. We host it free to play in your browser, so there is nothing to download or install and no purchase is needed to start.

What do the numbers in the characters' speech bubbles mean?

They are order counts. A bubble showing a red tomato with 0/2 means that shopper still needs two tomatoes; 0/1 means they need one.

Is there a checkout counter?

Yes. A mint-green counter holds a grey register and a separate grey card terminal with a green display. Characters carrying goods show a bubble with a grey machine that resembles that register and gather around the counter, including one shown with an angry face.

What does the shop sell?

Tomatoes are what the shop mostly deals in: laid out on the wooden stand under a tomato signboard, carried by hand, filling a green basket, and growing in a planter outside. One character is also seen holding a boxed item with coloured panels, so tomatoes may not be the only stock — we have not seen a full product list.

Is the game played in portrait or landscape?

Portrait. It renders in a tall vertical window, with the settings gear and the van button stacked down the left-hand edge.
