About Jigsaw Sort

Jigsaw Sort is a browser-based sliding/swapping picture puzzle built with the Construct 3 engine. Instead of dragging interlocking jigsaw pieces into a frame, you tap or click two square tiles on a scrambled grid to swap their positions, gradually reassembling a hidden picture. The core loop is simple pattern-matching under a shuffled layout, repeated across a sequence of levels that reveal new images as you clear them.

How to play Jigsaw Sort

1. Look at the scrambled grid of image tiles and study the shapes/colors at each edge.
2. Click or tap one tile, then click or tap a second tile to swap their positions.
3. Keep swapping pairs of tiles to move each piece toward its correct spot.
4. Match edges and colors correctly until the full picture is reassembled with no tiles out of place.
5. Clear the level to reveal a new image and move on to a harder scramble.

Controls

• Desktop: Mouse only: left-click one tile, then left-click another tile to swap them. No keyboard needed.
• Mobile / tablet: Touchscreen: tap one tile, then tap a second tile to swap them. Playable in portrait orientation.

Jigsaw Sort tips & strategy

• Start by identifying tiles with distinctive colors or edge patterns - they're the easiest to place correctly first.
• Work on one corner or section of the image at a time instead of jumping around the whole grid.
• Use the overall picture (visible as it fills in) to predict where remaining tiles belong.
• Undo a swap immediately if it moves a tile further from its correct spot, rather than compounding the mistake.
• Later levels use busier, more detailed images, so slow down and compare small edge details rather than relying on color alone.
