Cosmos Lines is a calm, space-themed logic puzzle from indie developer Insality Games (Maksim Tuprikov), built with the Defold engine. Each level presents a grid dotted with numbered points set against soft cosmic backdrops and ambient music. Your job is to draw a colored line out of every numbered point, stretching it to exactly the length its number shows, and to arrange all the lines so they completely fill the board without overlapping or crossing. The challenge comes from fitting every line together like an interlocking snake puzzle: one misplaced path leaves a gap or blocks another line. Grids start small and grow more intricate across roughly a hundred handcrafted levels grouped into packs. There is no timer and no fail state, just a gentle hint button when you get stuck. It is a meditative, think-at-your-own-pace game rather than a reflex or arcade challenge.
How to play Cosmos Lines
- Look over the grid and note each numbered point — the number is the exact length that point's line must reach.
- Click or tap a numbered point and drag outward to draw its colored line cell by cell, up to its number.
- Route every line so that together they cover all empty cells of the grid without overlapping or crossing.
- Adjust or redraw a line whenever it blocks another line or strands cells that can't be reached.
- Use the hint button if you get stuck, and finish the level once the whole board is completely filled.
Controls
- Desktop: Click and drag with the mouse from a numbered point to draw its line; release to set it, and click a line to erase and redraw it.
- Mobile / tablet: Tap and drag with your finger to draw each line from its numbered point; lift your finger to place it, and tap a line to redo it.
Cosmos Lines tips & strategy
- Place the highest-numbered lines first — long lines have the fewest possible routes, so locking them in early narrows every other choice.
- Work from corners and edges inward; a corner cell can only be entered from one or two directions, which often forces which line must cover it.
- Treat every line you have already drawn as a solid wall — remaining lines cannot cross it, so each placed line reshapes the options for all the others.
- Watch for isolated blank cells: if a pocket of empty squares can't be reached by any line of the right leftover length, back up and reroute.
- As a sanity check, the lengths of all the numbered lines should add up to the number of cells to fill — so if you can’t cover the whole grid, a line is usually misrouted rather than the puzzle being unsolvable.
- Save the built-in hint for genuinely stuck boards — reveal one correct line, then reason out the rest yourself.

Level 5 has a small grid with points numbered 7 and 3, while levels 7 and 8 use larger 4x4 and 5x4 grids with points numbered 4, 10, 8 and 7 and blue lines partly drawn across the cells.
Cosmos Lines FAQ
Who developed Cosmos Lines?
It was made by indie developer Insality Games — Maksim Tuprikov, an active Defold-engine developer — and built with the Defold engine. It first launched in 2018 and later came to Poki in November 2023.
Is Cosmos Lines free to play?
Yes. It plays free in any modern web browser with no download or install required. It was also originally released as iOS and Android apps back in 2018.
How do you play Cosmos Lines?
Each level is a grid with numbered points. Drag a colored line out of every point exactly as long as its number, and arrange all the lines so they fill the entire grid without overlapping or crossing.
How many levels does Cosmos Lines have?
Around 100 levels (walkthrough coverage runs to about level 100), grouped into packs that grow larger and trickier as you progress.
Is there a hint if I get stuck?
Yes. The game includes a hint button you can use when a board has you stumped, and there is no timer or fail state, so you can take as long as you like.
Where can I find level solutions?
The most complete solutions are video walkthroughs on YouTube (some cover levels 1-50, others 1-100). There is no reliable text or image solution guide, so following a video is currently the best way to check a specific level.
