Flamit is a fast-paced 2D arcade game where you play as a living flame racing to ignite every torch on the screen before your own fire burns out. Across 30 levels set in icy, obstacle-filled rooms, each stage flashes with light for a few seconds at the start so you can memorize where the torches sit, then plunges into darkness — your flame and any torches you've already lit become the only light source. You'll need to recall torch positions from memory while dodging spikes and icy enemies, all under the pressure of a shrinking flame timer. The game blends memory and reflexes: plan a route in that brief flash of light, then execute it fast and cleanly once the dark sets in. Two modes are on offer — Normal, for working through the level set at your own pace, and Speedrun, which times your full run for players chasing a best clear. It's a quick-session browser game that rewards careful observation as much as fast fingers.
How to play Flamit
- Choose Normal mode to progress level by level, or Speedrun to race the clock across the whole game.
- At the start of each level, the screen lights up briefly — study the layout and memorize where every torch sits.
- Once the light fades, guide your flame through the darkness, relying on your own glow and any torches already lit to spot nearby hazards.
- Touch each torch to ignite it while dodging spikes, icy enemies, and other obstacles in your path.
- Keep moving — your flame shrinks over time, and if it burns out before every torch is lit, the level ends.
- Light all the torches on screen to clear the stage and advance through the full set of 30 levels.
Controls
- Desktop: Arrow keys or WASD to move; the up arrow or W also doubles as jump. The down key selects levels from the level-select menu.
- Mobile / tablet: On-screen touch buttons handle movement and jumping — tap the directional controls to move your flame and the jump button to clear obstacles.
Flamit tips & strategy
- Use the level's brief opening flash wisely — trace a mental path to the nearest torches before the lights go out.
- Light the closest torches first so their glow expands your visible area for the trickier ones further away.
- Move in short, deliberate bursts rather than sprinting blind — spikes and icy enemies are easy to hit when you're guessing in the dark.
- Watch your flame size as a timer substitute; if it's getting small, prioritize finishing over exploring unlit corners.
- Replay early levels once you've cleared them to sharpen your memory routes before attempting Speedrun mode.
- Icy surfaces can affect your footing, so approach ice patches slower than you would open ground.
What makes Flamit fun
