About Escape Devil Island

Escape Devil Island is a 3D sneaking game played in a portrait window. The level is a long, dimly lit path running away from the camera, lined with iron railings on skull-topped stone posts with glowing lava beyond them on both sides; lanterns, a pumpkin and a skull-faced coffin sit along the edges. You control a small chibi character in a hooded cat costume and move up the path through pools of lantern light. The hazards are red electric nets strung across the route, which kill on contact -- the game pops its own warning about them -- and white ghosts with orange eyes that drift in the lane. The heads-up display carries a coin counter, a key counter reading X0, and a rescue counter that runs down as you reach the figures waiting further up the path. Touching a hazard ends the attempt: the screen washes pale, a three-second countdown ticks over the character and a Revive button appears. Before a run starts, a "Tap to Start" screen offers two upgrade cards, Speed and Invisible, each levelled separately, plus a Transform button beside the character model and a separate Try Weapon screen showing a melee weapon with a Trial button.

How to play Escape Devil Island

  1. Start from the level screen: the playfield is drawn behind a "Tap to Start" overlay, with the level number at the top and a coin counter at the top left.
  2. Check the two upgrade cards first. Speed and Invisible level independently, so one can run well ahead of the other.
  3. Move the character up the fenced path. The run is about route and timing, not combat.
  4. Avoid the red electric nets completely -- contact kills instantly, and the game warns you about them on screen.
  5. Watch the white ghosts patrolling the lane; they move, so a gap that is open now may not be when you reach it.
  6. Track the two counters as you go: a key count, and a rescue count that falls as you reach the figures waiting up the path.
  7. If you are caught, a three-second countdown appears with a Revive button under it -- otherwise the attempt is over and you restart.

Controls

  • Desktop: Left click the on-screen buttons: the "Tap to Start" overlay, the Speed and Invisible upgrade cards, the "Trial" button and the X that closes the weapon screen. On the weapon screen the character model can be viewed in profile, from the front and from behind, so the view can be changed, but we have not worked out what input does it. No keyboard prompt appears anywhere, and no in-run movement control is visible.
  • Mobile / tablet: Tap to start the level and to press the upgrade cards, the "Trial" button and the X. The layout is portrait, with the HUD at the top and the buttons within thumb reach at the bottom. We cannot tell you how the character is steered during a run.

Escape Devil Island tips & strategy

  • Both upgrade cards read "Lv Up 3" while the coin counter is still at 0, so expect to collect coins before upgrading — or use the play-triangle option on the card, which in browser games of this kind usually means watching a video.
  • The "Try Weapon" screen is the only place the held weapon is visible, and in the profile view it is hidden behind the body — the front and back views are the ones that show it.
  • The "Trial" button carries a play-triangle badge rather than a price, so treat a weapon taken there as something to test rather than an outright unlock.
  • The lane is not empty when the level screen loads: two ghosts already hover in it, and green blobs and a tentacle-like shape sit by the railings. It is worth reading the layout before tapping Start.
  • The X at the top left closes the weapon screen, and the hamburger button on the level screen opens the game's menu if you need to get out of a screen.

What makes Escape Devil Island fun

Portrait 3D presentation with low-poly, chibi-styled characters. A Halloween setting: iron railings on skull-topped stone posts, a skull-faced coffin, lanterns, an orange pumpkin and glowing lava fields beyond the fences. Numbered levels, shown as a "Level 1" label at the top of the screen. A coin currency with its own HUD counter. Two upgradable abilities, Speed and Invisible, each showing its own level and a "Lv Up 3" line with a play-triangle badge. A separate weapon screen that shows the character model from several angles with at least two melee weapons — a short white blade with an orange grip and an orange-handled axe — plus a "Trial" option. Ghosts, glowing green blobs and a tentacle-like creature placed in and around the play lane. Runs in the browser, with no download, sign-in or purchase prompt.

Escape Devil Island FAQ

Is Escape Devil Island free to play?

Yes — it runs in the browser and nothing in it asks for a purchase or a sign-in. The upgrade cards and the weapon "Trial" button carry play-triangle badges, the usual mark for an optional video, and the game has its own coin counter, which starts at 0.

What upgrades does the game have?

Two, shown as cards on the start screen: Speed and Invisible. Both begin at Level 1 and both display "Lv Up 3" beside a purple play-triangle badge. The Speed card's icon is a running hooded figure with motion lines; the Invisible card's icon is the same figure half-faded into stripes.

Are there weapons?

Yes. A "Try Weapon" screen shows the character model holding a short white blade with an orange grip, with an orange-handled axe as a second option. The model can be viewed in profile, from the front and from behind, and a "Trial" button sits underneath. We have not seen a weapon used during a run.

Is this a first-person escape and puzzle game?

No. It is a third-person view down a lit path, with chibi characters, a level label, a coin counter and ability-upgrade cards. There is no first-person view, no inventory, no notes to find and no door-unlocking interface.

What does the setting look like?

A dark path fenced in with iron railings on skull-topped stone posts, with lanterns, an orange pumpkin and a skull-faced coffin along the edges and glowing lava on both sides beyond the fence. Two white ghosts with orange eyes hover in the lane, and green glowing blobs and a tentacle-like shape sit near the railings. At the far end there is a lit area with a green glowing ring on the ground, a wheeled vehicle and a yellow barred crate.
