Donutosaur is a free browser physics puzzle game across twenty levels, and the donut in the title is the goal rather than anything you make. You lead a dinosaur to his beloved donuts by cleverly removing obstacles and enlisting helpers, working out which pieces of the scene to take away and in what order so that the dinosaur ends up where the donut is. Stars are awarded for efficient solutions, which gives each level a second pass beyond simply clearing it. It is a thinking game rather than a reflex one: nothing is timed, and the difficulty sits entirely in reading the scene and predicting what will happen when a support goes. The level select makes it easy to dip in and out, which suits a puzzle game you may want to leave and come back to. It is landscape, free in the browser, with no download, no account and no app store required.
How to play Donutosaur
- Look at the whole scene before touching anything — the solution is in the arrangement.
- Remove obstacles in the right order so the dinosaur can reach his donut.
- Enlist the helpers each level provides where they are needed.
- Collect the stars by finding efficient solutions rather than just finishing.
- Move between the twenty levels freely using the level select.
Controls
- Desktop: Mouse — click an obstacle to remove it, click helpers to use them.
- Mobile / tablet: Tap to remove obstacles and activate helpers. Landscape game, so turn your phone sideways.
Donutosaur tips & strategy
- Work backwards from the donut. Ask what has to be true for the dinosaur to arrive, then make that true.
- Nothing is timed, so a minute of looking beats three attempts of guessing.
- Stars reward the shortest solution, so a level you cleared is often worth re-solving.
- If a level resists you, move on and come back — the level select makes this easy.
- Try Donutosaur 2 once you finish; it is the better of the two with twenty-five more inventive levels.
- There is no baking in this game at all; it is a physics puzzle with a donut as the target.
