Carrom is a browser adaptation of the classic South Asian tabletop game played on a square board with four corner pockets. Using a heavier disc called the striker, players take turns flicking it from their own baseline to knock lighter coins, known as carrom men, into the pockets. The build hosted here is built around online rooms rather than a local match: it opens on a lobby of room cards -- the entry-level one reads NOVICE, Prize 400, Entry Fee 200, Players Online 508, with a rules line of "6 Pieces DiscPool" and a Disc Pool button under it -- and your wallet of coins and gems sits alongside. A match pairs you with another player under a banner reading "Pot all your pucks to win the match" and a running score, with the coins packed into a star at the centre of the board and the striker waiting on the baseline under a red aim arrow. Classic carrom also has the red Queen, which scores a bonus if pocketed and then covered by one of your own coins on the following shot; that rule belongs to the full carrom ruleset rather than to the Disc Pool rooms the lobby opens on. Controls are drag-and-flick with simple cushion physics.
How to play Carrom
- Pick a room from the lobby. Each card lists its prize, its entry fee and how many players are online, and the entry fee comes out of your coin balance.
- Read the room's rules line before you join -- the entry-level room runs "6 Pieces DiscPool" rather than a full carrom set.
- Place the striker anywhere along your own baseline before each shot; a red arrow shows where it is aimed.
- Drag back from the striker and release to flick it into the pile of coins at the centre of the board.
- Pot your pucks to score -- the banner above the board states the match is won by potting all of them, and the score runs at the top.
- Keep shooting as long as you keep pocketing your own coins. A miss, or sinking the opponent's coin or the striker itself, passes the turn.
- In a full carrom ruleset, pocket the red Queen and immediately cover it with one of your own coins on the next shot, or it goes back to the centre.
Controls
- Desktop: Move the mouse (or drag) to reposition the striker along your own baseline, then click-and-drag back from the striker and release to flick it — the pull-back distance sets shot power and direction, similar to aiming a pool cue.
- Mobile / tablet: Touch and drag the striker along the baseline to aim, then pull back and lift your finger to release the flick; how far you drag back controls the power of the shot.
Carrom tips & strategy
- Take a soft, controlled break on the opening shot rather than blasting the pile — a wild break scatters coins toward the borders where they're much harder to pocket.
- Only go for the Queen when you already have a clear follow-up shot lined up, since you must cover it with your own coin on the very next turn or it returns to the center.
- Use the board's cushions for bank/rebound shots when your target coin is blocked by others in a direct line.
- Reposition the striker across the full width of your baseline to open up sharper angles instead of always shooting from the center.
- Avoid pocketing the striker itself — it costs a penalty and puts one of your own coins back on the board.
What makes Carrom fun
Physics-based striker aiming with drag-and-flick controls, rebound physics off the board's cushions, turn-continuation rules tied to successful pots, a bonus Queen mechanic that requires an immediate cover shot, and both single-player (vs. AI) and local two-player modes — all playable instantly in the browser with no install.

Carrom FAQ
What is Carrom?
Carrom is a traditional South Asian tabletop game in which players flick a heavier disc, the striker, to pot smaller coins (carrom men) into four corner pockets — often compared to pool or billiards but played with a finger-flick instead of a cue.
How do you win a game of Carrom?
You win by being the first player to pocket all nine of your assigned coins (light or dark, decided by whichever color you sink first), including the red Queen if you claimed and covered it, before your opponent clears their own set.
What happens if I pocket the Queen?
Pocketing the Queen scores extra, but you must immediately pocket one of your own coins on your very next shot to "cover" it; if you fail to cover it, the Queen is placed back in the center circle.
Can I play against a friend, or only the computer?
Most browser Carrom builds offer a single-player mode against an AI opponent as well as local two-player play on the same device; some versions add online multiplayer, though this varies by build.
Is this the same as Miniclip's Carrom Pool app?
No. This browser game is a separate, independently built adaptation of the traditional Carrom game and is not affiliated with or produced by Miniclip's mobile title Carrom Pool.
Do I need to download anything to play?
No — it runs directly in the browser using HTML5/WebGL technology, with no installation needed on desktop or mobile.
