About Blocks Puzzle

Blocks Puzzle is a browser-based grid puzzle game built with the Construct 3 engine, first released on December 23, 2022. You are given a batch of differently-shaped blocks and must place them on a square grid to fill complete rows and columns, which then clear to make room for more pieces. Blocks can be rotated with a click before you drop them, and the puzzle gets tougher as you keep clearing lines, so the challenge comes from fitting each new batch of shapes into a shrinking amount of open space.

How to play Blocks Puzzle

1. Look at the batch of block shapes offered below the grid.
2. Click a block to rotate it into the orientation you need before placing it.
3. Drag a block onto the grid and drop it where you want it placed.
4. Fill an entire row or column with blocks to clear it and score points.
5. Keep placing all the blocks in the current batch before a new batch appears.
6. Plan ahead so you don't leave small gaps that later pieces can't fit into, since the puzzle gets tougher as you progress.

Controls

• Desktop: Mouse: click a block to rotate it, then click and drag it from the tray onto the grid and release to drop it.
• Mobile / tablet: Touchscreen: tap a block to rotate it, then tap and drag it with your finger onto the grid and lift to place it.

Blocks Puzzle tips & strategy

• Clear rows and columns near the edges first so you keep the center of the grid open for flexible placements.
• Try to keep at least one full row or column open at all times as a buffer for awkward pieces.
• Use the rotate option before dropping a block if its current orientation won't fit the open space.
• Scan the whole grid before committing a block, since misplacing one piece can block the rest of the batch.
• Look for setups where a single block completes two lines at once for a bigger score boost.
