Worm Hunt is a multiplayer .io take on the classic snake formula: you guide a worm around a shared arena, eating scattered food pellets to grow longer while trying to cut off rival worms so they crash into your body. Crashed worms burst into a trail of food that anyone nearby can gulp up. The game offers both an endless mode and a timed mode where the arena gradually shrinks, pushing players into closer, more dangerous contact.
How to play Worm Hunt - Snake game iO zone
- Join a match and your worm spawns in an open arena alongside other live players.
- Move the mouse cursor to steer your worm's direction continuously.
- Glide over food pellets scattered around the map to grow longer.
- Hold the left or right mouse button (or press space) to boost speed for a short burst, which also shortens your worm slightly.
- Cut across another worm's path so its head hits your body to make it pop into a food trail, then swoop in to eat the remains before rivals do.
- Avoid running your own head into another worm's body or the arena boundary, and in timed mode watch the shrinking play area to stay out of the danger zone.
Controls
- Desktop: Mouse to steer the worm's direction; hold left/right mouse button or press Space to boost speed.
- Mobile / tablet: Touch and drag on screen to steer the worm; tap and hold or use the on-screen boost button to speed up.
Worm Hunt - Snake game iO zone tips & strategy
- Don't boost constantly - every boost shrinks your worm a little, so save it for closing a kill or escaping a trap.
- Circle around smaller worms to box them in rather than chasing head-on, which lowers your own collision risk.
- Watch bigger worms' heads, not their tails - colliding with any part of a body pops you, so give wide berth near dense clusters of players.
- In timed/shrinking-arena mode, stay aware of the shrinking boundary early so you're not forced into a crowded center late in the round.
- Rush food trails left by popped worms quickly - other nearby players are racing for the same pile.
What makes Worm Hunt - Snake game iO zone fun
The mix of endless free-roam and a shrinking-arena timed mode gives Worm Hunt two distinct paces, and the real-time collision-based kills (popping rivals into food) create constant risk-reward decisions in crowded arenas.
