Evo Pit drops twenty players into a single sealed arena with no way out. Everyone starts as a lowly grub and claws upward through eight evolutionary forms — rat duelist, hound, boar knight, ogre, troll champion, wyrm, and finally Pit God — by grabbing orbs scattered across the floor and finishing off weaker fighters. Combat is automatic: get close enough to an enemy and your attack lands on its own, so positioning and target selection matter more than button-mashing. Each evolution hits harder and carries more mass, but trades away agility, so the biggest creature on the field isn't always the safest one. Rounds are capped at three minutes, and dying only strips away a form or two instead of ending your run, so a single mistake doesn't cost the match. Whoever holds the champion's spot when the bell rings wins. It's a free browser-based .io title playable instantly on desktop or mobile, no download or account required.
How to play Evo Pit
- Load into the pit — you begin as a grub, the weakest of the eight forms.
- Move around the arena with WASD, the arrow keys, or ZQSD; on mobile, drag the on-screen joystick.
- Get close to enemies to fight — attacks trigger automatically when a target is in range, so there's no separate attack button.
- Collect orbs scattered around the floor and land kills to fill your evolution meter.
- Evolve through each form (rat duelist, hound, boar knight, ogre, troll champion, wyrm, Pit God) as the meter fills, gaining power but losing agility at each stage.
- Take down the current champion before the three-minute round ends to claim the top spot.
Controls
- Desktop: Move with WASD, the arrow keys, or ZQSD. There's no attack button — combat is automatic and fires whenever an opponent is within range.
- Mobile / tablet: Drag the on-screen virtual joystick to move around the arena; attacks trigger automatically when an enemy gets close enough.
Evo Pit tips & strategy
- Don't evolve the instant your meter fills if a fight is already crowded — bigger forms lose agility, and getting surrounded mid-transition is dangerous.
- Farm orbs on the outskirts early on rather than picking fights against equally weak grubs; free progress beats a risky 50/50 duel.
- Pick fights you can actually finish — chasing a fleeing opponent as a slower, late-stage form usually ends badly.
- Keep track of the current champion's position; dethroning them matters more for winning the round than racking up minor kills.
- Losing a fight only costs a form or two rather than the whole run, so it's worth playing a bit more aggressively than in a permadeath .io game.
- Use the speed of early forms to hit-and-run rather than trading blows head-on with bigger creatures.
