TenTrix is a block-placement puzzle played on a 10x10 grid, built around Tetris-style polyomino shapes that never fall and never rotate. You're given three shapes at a time and must drag each one onto the board; completing a full row or column clears it and makes room for more. There's no timer or gravity pushing pieces down, so the challenge is purely spatial planning: fit all three shapes before choosing where to place the next batch, and keep the board from filling up.
How to play TenTrix
- Look at the three shapes shown below the 10x10 grid.
- Click or tap a shape and drag it onto the grid to place it.
- Fill an entire row or column with blocks to clear that line and score points.
- Place all three current shapes; once they're used, a new set of three appears.
- Keep planning ahead so a piece always has room to fit - the game ends when no piece can be placed.
Controls
- Desktop: Mouse only: click and drag a shape from the tray onto the grid, then release to drop it.
- Mobile / tablet: Touchscreen: tap and drag a shape onto the grid with your finger, then lift to place it.
TenTrix tips & strategy
- Don't rush to fill the center - build outward from a corner or edge so you always have open space to maneuver.
- Try to keep at least one row and one column open at all times; a fully boxed-in board ends the game.
- Since pieces can't rotate, think about all three current shapes together and place the most restrictive one first.
- Clearing multiple lines at once (a row and column together) scores more, so look for setups that complete two lines with one placement.
- Avoid creating small isolated gaps (like single-cell holes) that no upcoming shape can fill.
What makes TenTrix fun
TenTrix strips away the falling-block pressure of classic Tetris and replaces it with untimed, drag-and-place strategy on a 10x10 grid, so every game rewards careful planning over quick reflexes. Its clean structure of picking three unrotatable shapes at a time makes it easy to learn but hard to master.
