Speed Typer is a typing test with the one feature TypeFast leaves out: difficulty settings. You pick a level, words appear, and you race the clock typing them as accurately as you can, with your score rising as you go and a rank system sitting behind it to give the number somewhere to land. The difficulty choice matters more than it might appear. A typing test pitched too easy lets you coast on common short words and tells you nothing; pitched too hard, it collapses into error-correction and measures your backspace key. Being able to choose means you can find the level where you are genuinely stretched but still typing fluently, which is the only setting where a speed test is actually informative. Every keystroke counts toward the result, so there is no gaming it by hammering keys. It is the better pick of the two pure speed tests here if you want to track progress over time rather than just get a number once.

Speed Typer tips & strategy
- Pick the difficulty where you are stretched but still fluent. Too easy measures nothing; too hard measures your backspace key.
- Keep the same difficulty when you are tracking progress. Changing it makes the scores incomparable.
- Accuracy pays better than raw speed, because corrections cost more time than careful typing does.
- If your rank stalls, drop a difficulty and rebuild fluency rather than grinding the harder setting.

Speed Typer FAQ
What is the difference between Speed Typer and TypeFast?
Speed Typer lets you choose a difficulty level and gives you ranks to progress through, which makes it better for tracking improvement over time. TypeFast is a single flat speed test.
Which difficulty should I pick?
The one where you are stretched but still typing fluently. If you are correcting constantly the test is measuring your error recovery rather than your speed.
Is it free to play?
Yes, free in the browser with nothing to install.
Does it work on a phone?
It runs, but a touchscreen keyboard will not give you a score that reflects your real typing speed.
