Trap the Convoy is a free browser defence game with one clear job, stated by the game itself: blow up every truck with your mines before it reaches your gate. Each level draws a single switchback road winding down a desert canyon, with the convoy entering at the top and your gate sitting at the bottom of the screen. You do not drive and you do not shoot — you aim with the arrow keys and throw mines with the space bar, landing them on the road ahead of the trucks so the convoy drives into them. What makes it a thinking game rather than a reflex one is supply: your mines sit in a small row of slots at the bottom of the screen, and a slot that you spend starts visibly recharging instead of refilling instantly. That turns every throw into a choice about where on the road a mine is worth spending, and how many switchbacks of runway you still have before the lead truck is at your gate. Score and level are tracked in the corner, and the first level marks the spot with a Throw here! prompt before leaving you to read the road yourself.
How to play Trap the Convoy
- Aim with the arrow keys and press the space bar to throw a mine onto the road.
- Land mines on the switchback road ahead of the convoy so the trucks drive into them.
- Destroy every truck before any of them reaches the gate at the bottom of the screen.
- Watch the mine slots at the bottom — a slot you spend recharges rather than refilling instantly, so your supply is limited at any moment.
- Press R to restart a level if a throw goes wrong early.
- Clear the convoy to advance; your score and level are shown in the top corner.
Controls
- Desktop: Arrow keys to aim, Space to throw a mine, R to restart the level.
- Mobile / tablet: The game's own instructions list keyboard controls (arrows, Space, R), so a device with a keyboard is the intended setup.
Trap the Convoy tips & strategy
- Mine the upper switchbacks first — a truck destroyed near the top of the canyon buys you the whole rest of the road as a margin for error.
- Do not empty every slot at once; a recharging slot is a mine you cannot throw when the lead truck is already close to the gate.
- Aim at the road itself, not at a moving truck — a mine sitting on the route will catch whatever drives over it.
- A long straight stretch is a better landing spot than a tight hairpin, because a slight error still leaves the mine on the road.
- If an early throw lands badly, press R immediately rather than playing out a level you have already made harder.
What makes Trap the Convoy fun
Single-road convoy defence down a desert canyon; aim-and-throw mine placement rather than driving or shooting; a limited row of mine slots that recharge after use, forcing you to ration throws; a gate you must protect at the bottom of the screen; score and level progression; free instant play in the browser, no download or sign-up.
Trap the Convoy FAQ
Is Trap the Convoy free to play?
Yes. It plays free in your browser here, with no download, install, or sign-up.
How do I play Trap the Convoy?
Aim with the arrow keys and throw mines with the space bar onto the winding road, destroying every truck before one reaches your gate at the bottom.
What happens if a truck reaches the gate?
The game's stated objective is to blow up every truck before it reaches your gate, so letting one through is what you are playing against.
Do I have unlimited mines?
No. Mines sit in a small row of slots at the bottom of the screen, and a slot you spend recharges rather than refilling instantly.
How do I restart a level?
Press R. The in-game instructions list R as the restart key.
Do I need a keyboard?
The in-game instructions are written for a keyboard (arrow keys to aim, Space to throw, R to restart), so a device with a keyboard is the intended way to play.
