Gelatino is a 2D arcade endless runner where you steer a flying popsicle down an ever-continuing road. The popsicle melts gradually as it travels, so your job is to keep it frozen by scooping up ice cubes scattered along the route while dodging bouncy, sun-shaped balls of heat that speed up the melt. Controls are a single click-and-drag input, giving the game an easy-to-learn, hard-to-master feel typical of casual arcade titles. As runs go on, the road throws more heat and less ice at you, forcing tighter, more deliberate movement. Skilled players can also crash into the heat balls to smash them for bonus points, adding a small risk-reward layer on top of the core survive-as-long-as-you-can loop. It's a quick, replayable pick-up-and-play game built around chasing a higher distance or score each attempt rather than fixed levels.
How to play Gelatino
- Click (or tap) and hold on the popsicle to take control of it.
- Drag your cursor or finger to steer the popsicle down the endless road — it follows with a slight delay, so lead your movements.
- Collect the ice cubes that appear along the route to keep the popsicle frozen; it melts steadily over time.
- Dodge the bouncing balls of heat ("angry suns") — touching them speeds up the melting.
- Optionally crash into a heat ball to destroy it for bonus points, when you can afford the risk.
- Keep going as long as possible — if the popsicle melts completely, the run ends and you try to beat your score.
Controls
- Desktop: Left-click and hold on the popsicle, then drag the mouse to steer it left and right (and up/down) along the road. The popsicle follows your cursor with a short delay rather than snapping instantly, so smooth, anticipatory movements work best.
- Mobile / tablet: Touch and hold on the popsicle, then drag your finger to steer — the same follow-the-touch control scheme as desktop. The game is designed for portrait orientation, so play it holding your phone upright.
Gelatino tips & strategy
- Prioritize grabbing ice cubes over chasing suns early in a run — staying frozen matters more than bonus points until you're topped up.
- Lead your movements: the popsicle trails your cursor/finger with a short delay, so react a beat before an obstacle arrives, not on top of it.
- Once your ice meter is healthy, take calculated risks to ram and destroy nearby suns for extra points.
- Favor slow, deliberate drags over fast jerky ones — overcorrecting is a common way to clip an obstacle you were trying to avoid.
- Stay roughly centered on the road when nothing urgent is happening, so you have room to react whichever side the next hazard or ice cube appears on.
- Treat it as a high-score chase, not a level clear — the road only gets harder, so the real goal each run is beating your previous distance.
What makes Gelatino fun
An endless-runner arcade game built on one-input drag controls, a melting-meter risk/reward loop of collecting ice versus dodging or smashing heat, and difficulty that escalates the further you survive.
