Tiles Hop is a fast-paced music rhythm game built around a single bouncing ball. A glowing sphere hops forward on its own along a ribbon of floating tiles, and your only job is to steer it left and right so every jump lands on solid ground. Each bounce is timed to the beat of the soundtrack, so it feels less like reacting and more like playing the song with your finger. Landing dead-center scores a "perfect" and builds a score multiplier, while a single miss drops the ball into the gap and ends the run. Tracks span EDM, piano, pop and rock, and collecting diamonds unlocks fresh songs, balls and themes. Originally a mobile hit from Vietnamese music-game studio Amanotes, its one-axis control and hypnotic speed ramp have made it a browser-game staple played in short, replayable bursts.
How to play Tiles Hop
- Press and hold to launch the ball; it starts bouncing forward automatically in time with the song.
- Steer the ball left or right so each jump lands on the next tile in the winding path.
- Aim for the middle of every tile to score a 'perfect' hit and raise your score multiplier.
- Keep the ball on the tiles at all times — a single miss into a gap ends the run.
- Collect diamonds and stars along the path to unlock new songs, balls, and themes.
- Survive for as long as the track keeps playing to push for the highest score.
Controls
- Desktop: Click and hold, then move the mouse left or right to steer the bouncing ball onto each tile. The ball jumps automatically to the beat — you only control the horizontal direction.
- Mobile / tablet: Touch and hold the screen, then slide your finger left or right to guide the ball across the tiles. Timing is handled by the music; you steer the side-to-side path.
Tiles Hop tips & strategy
- Aim for the exact center of each tile — 'perfect' landings build the multiplier that drives your score far higher than bare survival.
- Watch two or three tiles ahead instead of staring at the ball, so you can pre-position for sharp turns before they arrive.
- Make small, smooth corrections; over-steering flings the ball off the far edge, which is the most common way to lose.
- Feel the beat rather than reacting to the visuals — jumps are locked to the music, so anticipating on rhythm beats twitch reflexes.
- Learn the control feel on slower songs first; fast EDM tracks widen the gaps and ramp the speed, punishing loose aim.
- Grab diamonds on the path when it's safe — they're the currency for unlocking new tracks, balls, and themes.
What makes Tiles Hop fun
A rotating library of songs across EDM, piano, pop and rock, with jumps synced to the beat. Center-of-tile "perfect" landings feed a score multiplier for combo-driven scoring. Difficulty scales inside each run as speed rises and tile gaps widen. Diamond/star collection unlocks new songs, ball skins, and visual themes. The original mobile app also lets players import and play their own music; browser HTML5 versions typically offer a fixed built-in track set. One-touch, one-axis controls make it instantly pick-up-and-play, ideal for short replayable sessions.
Tiles Hop gameplay video
In this clip: A glowing white ball hops along a line of neon square tiles set against a desert backdrop of mesas and cacti. The score at the top reads 117, 204, 348 and 498 across the four frames, and the scene's colours change from an orange sunset to blue and then green. Small blue gem-shaped pickups sit on some tiles ahead.
Tiles Hop FAQ
Who developed Tiles Hop?
Tiles Hop (full title Tiles Hop: EDM Rush!) was created by Amanotes, a Vietnamese music-game studio and the world's top music-game publisher, in collaboration with Inwave Studio. It launched on mobile around 2017-2018.
Is Tiles Hop free to play?
Yes. It is free to play on mobile app stores and through HTML5 browser versions. No download is required to play the browser edition.
Does Tiles Hop have levels?
Not in the traditional sense. There are no numbered stages to clear — instead you pick a song and play an endless run that lasts as long as the track, chasing the highest score before you miss a tile.
How do I get a high score?
Land the ball in the dead-center of tiles for 'perfect' hits, which stack a score multiplier. Combining a long unbroken combo with perfect landings scores far more than simply surviving.
Can I play Tiles Hop in a browser without installing it?
Yes. Tiles Hop is available as an HTML5 browser game on many web portals, playable on desktop with a mouse or on phones and tablets by touch, with no installation needed.
Can I use my own music in Tiles Hop?
The official Amanotes mobile app includes a feature to import and play your own songs. Browser ports generally provide a fixed set of built-in tracks rather than custom-music import.
