About The Black And White

The Black And White is a 2D puzzle-platformer starring two characters, Black and White, each with different abilities. The core loop is switching between them (or coordinating both) to use each one's strengths, work through the level's obstacles, and get both characters safely to their exit points together.

How to play The Black And White

1. Move both characters left and right and jump using the arrow keys.
2. Press Tab to switch control between the Black and White characters.
3. Press Space to interact with objects and elements in the level.
4. Study the layout before moving - most obstacles need Black and White to act in a specific order or position.
5. Use each character's ability to clear the way for the other one.
6. Get both characters to the level's exit to complete it and unlock the next one.

Controls

• Desktop: Arrow keys to move/jump, Tab to switch between the two characters, Space to interact with objects in the level
• Mobile / tablet: On-screen touch controls for movement, jumping, switching characters, and interacting

The Black And White tips & strategy

• Don't rush - most deaths come from moving one character before figuring out what the other needs to do first.
• Switch characters often; a puzzle that looks stuck is usually waiting on the other character's ability.
• If a section feels impossible, look for a ledge or platform reachable only by the other-colored character.
• Replay earlier levels if you're unsure of a mechanic - later levels reuse the same basic tricks in trickier combinations.
