Bowling Stars is a browser-based take on ten-pin bowling, the globally popular sport where players roll a ball down a lane to knock down ten pins arranged in a triangle. Ten-pin bowling itself is a well-established sport with modern standardized rules dating back over a century (the American Bowling Congress was founded in 1895). This web build lets players jump into a virtual bowling alley directly from a browser, aiming their shot, controlling throw power, and adding curve to the ball using mouse or touch input, with no download or account required to start playing. As in real bowling, the objective is to maximize pin knockdowns across a ten-frame game, chasing strikes and spares for the highest score, with matches typically replayable instantly for repeat attempts.

How to play Bowling Stars

1. Take your position at the top of the lane (the approach) and aim toward the pins at the far end.
2. Set the direction and power of your throw, then release the ball down the lane toward the pin formation.
3. Try to knock down all ten pins; a strike is clearing all ten on your first roll of the frame.
4. If pins remain standing, you get a second roll in that frame to knock down the rest for a spare.
5. A game consists of 10 frames; strikes and spares earn bonus points based on your next roll(s), on top of the pins knocked down.
6. The player or team with the highest total score after all 10 frames (including the 10th frame's bonus rolls) wins the game.

Controls

• Desktop: Click and hold (or click-drag) to set the ball's aim, pull back or hold to set throw power, then release to roll the ball; moving the mouse during the release typically adds curve/hook toward the pocket.
• Mobile / tablet: Touch and drag on the lane to aim, then swipe or flick to release the ball, with swipe speed/length usually controlling power and swipe curvature adding spin.

Bowling Stars tips & strategy

• Aim for the pocket rather than the head pin directly — the gap between the 1 and 3 pins for right-handers, or the 1 and 2 pins for left-handers, gives the best chance at a strike.
• Use a consistent release every throw; repeatable form leads to repeatable pocket hits and more predictable scoring.
• A ball that curves slightly into the pocket (a hook) typically carries pins better than a straight shot, since it drives pins into each other at a more effective angle.
• When converting a spare, realign your aim to the specific remaining pin(s) instead of reusing your strike-ball line.
• Use the arrows or dots on the lane as aiming references instead of staring at the pins themselves — they're closer and give more precise feedback.
• Make small adjustments to angle and power between throws based on how the previous ball reacted, rather than large changes all at once.
